Mikepércs: Tits And Jays

I started to the pool this morning with big expectations, as I recently discovered some evidence that the mistle thrush has visited the pool (at least I think so). There wasn't much light because of the thick clouds, but I had hope!
The tits can already be appeased with sunflower seeds, they are regular visitors:

For my greatest pleasure two siskins land to drink but not on the best place. Some sort of curiosity, this bird is playing yo-yo:

Then the jays appear, three or four at once:

One of them pulls out the small plants which grew on the trunk, thats why they are missing from the following photos:

I was waiting in vain for the mistle thrush today, maybe I will have more luck next time.

Mikepércs: Mistle Thrush

I'm getting into the hide with the hope of another fieldfare invasion at the bathing pool today, of course with a redwing among them.
The tits are the first to come and they return often:

The jays however don't appear, not to speak about the fieldfares. They are here though, as I can hear their voices.
Then my attention is caught by the voices of some goldfinches. One of them is perching on the bush nearby. The others are coming as well and are landing on the side of the pool one after the other. Unfortunately they are covering each other, they can't be photographed well, and they don't want to use the end of the pool for drinking. They finish soon and get away.
The tits keep coming:

In a still period I decide to pack and leave, when the tits are back again. OK, I stay for a while, taking the camera and the tripod out again and waiting for the tits to fly in. Suddenly I notice a jay coming in the distance. But as it gets closer I realise that it's not a jay but a thrush. It's landing right on the side of the pool. It's like a song thrush, but a bit bigger. It must be a mistle thrush then! I haven't met this species yet. It's just looking round there for a long time, fortunately the camera's noise isn't disturbing it. Then it turns round and starts drinking leisurely:

Then it thinks that it can have a bath in addition:

Water is sprinkling:

Having finished with bathing it flies away, but I can still hear its voice for a while.
I take a few shots of the tits before I leave:

Although I haven't really received all that I came for today, I'm still satisfied with the new species I managed to record.

Mikepércs: The Ice Has Been Broken

I started for the pool this morning in a thick fog. According to the recent weeks' experience I could only expect jays at the pool.
On my way I stopped for a dewy cobweb photography:

There's still thick fog when I get into the hide. And there's not much light. Soon I notice a small brown bird near the pool: it's a sparrow. Tree sparrows used to come regularly last year, but this is a house sparrow! I've never seen it near a bathing pool. After a while it gets onto the side of the pool, so I can photograph it:

Soon the great tits appear as well:

The sparrow meanwhile pops up here and there around the pool:

Soon the jays appear too:

Among the birds' voices I can discover the fieldfare's too. I used to hear it regularly, but this time they are closer. But look! One of them is perching on the bush nearby! There's no use taking photos of it because of the many twigs around it. I hope it would land on the pool. It's sitting in the bush for a while then it lands on one side of the pool:

Fieldfare

But the others are coming too:

Jay at the end of the pool, fieldfares on one side, and young blackbirds are arriving as well (which I don't pay much attention now)! And this is still not enough: I discover a redwing near the pool! (I haven't even seen this species yet.) Only it's not on the right place photographically. Never mind, after drinking a bit it lands on the branch placed for the jays before it flies away:

Great Tit

Then I can hear hawfinches, which are landing on the pool as well for a short time:

That's great! In these minutes more birds have come to the pool than in the last few months altogether!
A jay has come again to the water:

Jay

Jay

It seems this jay doesn't like the little red plant among the moss:

Jay

I'm afraid it has weeded it out, it looked so nice there :(
I'm still waiting for a long time hoping the fieldfares or the redwings would return...
Meanwhile the tits are coming regularly.
I can hear the voices of robins and wrens but they don't come close exept this wren, which is perching on a wild rose stem for a few moments. I can take a shot of it before I finish photography for today:

Wren

Well ... the fieldfares and the redwing have been a surprise for today. It's a long time I've had such a nice experience. I have to state that foggy mornings very often bring some pleasant surprise.

Mikepércs: Another Try ...

Still jays only at the pool. I would like some flight shots of them as well, but I haven't managed it yet and today was no exception:
