Bükk Mountains: Wintertime

We planned a one day trip to the Bükk Mountains for this weekend. Some snow is expected at least on higher regions. And indeed, at the end of the road to Bánkút the ground is covered by snow. It's overcast and foggy when we set off among nice snowy trees. Reaching the Zsidó-meadow the sun appears now and then in the sky:

I decide to spend the night at Felsőtárkány and go back the next day. During the night some snow has fallen again. My target is the Zsidó-meadow again touching Tar-kő. The fog is even thicker, so I can't see anything when I get to Tar-kő. However I can find some themes on the Zsidó-meadow:

Slovakia: Autumn Moments

Autumn colours still prevail, so I set off again, this time to Slovakia. I have a try on Muran plateau, in Slovak Paradise and in the Zadielska valley. The Hornad gorge is quite bare already but the road above Dobsina still serpentines among colourful trees:

Thanks to the rain the day before some fog has formed above the Zadielska valley in the morning. There's no sign of this down in the valley where one can go up along the stream on a nice twisty road:

Several small waterfalls have formed along the stream:

Reaching the top nothing can be seen in the fog. Fortunately after some time the fog opens up and the valley shows itself, ...:

... to hide again under the fog after a few minutes.

 

Apuseni Mountains: Autumn In Padis

Autumn has come. Another reason to go. :) For autumn colours and feeling. The target is: Apuseni Mountains, Padis. I'm travelling on a rainy day, but I like it because the landscape will be exciting after the rain! After arriving at Glavoi Meadow around noon I start to the Galbena Rock. I'm there in an hour or so. In the valley there are still clouds, but they are dissolving:

Fog has formed next morning, and I'm heading to the Ponor Meadow. The fog is dissolving rapidly in the sunshine and the Ponor Stream appears as well:

Today I visit the Galbena Gorge too. This is the Galbena Stream ...:

The hazy mornings fall away next days. I decide to go down to the Boga Valley, there are more to visit there too, for example the Boga Stream ...:

Padis is beautiful in autumn, so I have to return here in the future!

Făgăraș Mountains: At The Lake Capra

My old dream is watching the sunrise and the sunset at the top of the mountains. For this purpose it's an advantage if the quarters is high enough, so I don't need to stumble too much in the dark. That's why I chose the Capra lake in Făgăraș mountains, where there is a tent site to sleep at even in september if it's not too cold. I left the car at the top of the Transfăgărășan highway and climbed up with full backpack to the Capra lake at 2230 m. From here I started at every dawn and evening to the Capra (2494m) or to the Iezerul Caprei (2417m) peaks.

The weather didn't make the photos look too exciting but one evening came some clouds:

After sunset the clouds were still floating among the peaks:

I would like to return to this place later as there are a lot of sights farther on from the lake. 

Retezat Mountains: Four Days At Bucura Lake

I planned to spend a few days at Bucura Lake in Retezat mountains long ago. The lake can be reached best from Poiana Pelegii where one can go by car on a bad but viable forest road. After spending the first night in the car, on next morning I started my way up to the lake with a big backpack. This short trip with the heavy burden it's enough for today. The next day I climb up to the Peleaga peak (2509 m). From there the Bucura Lake and its surroundings look like this:

In spite of the high altitude it's warm. At least for two days. Then comes a night thunderstorm and the next morning the lake becomes smooth:

... then the wind's getting strong. Some rain starts to fall as well.

However by the afternoon the clouds roll away:

On the last day I go and see how the Bucura-valley looks like from the "Little Retezat" side:

High-Tatras: Hiking Near The Poprad Lake

I planned some hiking in the High-Tatras again, namely near the Poprad Lake.

On the first day I set off to the Rysy peak:

Mikepércs: Haze At Dawn

Some haze has formed again this morning at the pond. A pochard is the first to come in front of me:
