My last week photography wasn't very successful so I was very curious about this morning.
I have to wait long today for the birds to appear however the lights are fine. 9 o'clock has past when a green woodpecker lands on the side of the pool and starts drinking. This time the female:

Then starts to investigate the mossy log:

The spotted flycatcher appears again at the end of the pool. Another bird wants to land too, that's why the flycatcher's opens its beak:

Soon I can hear hawfinches, one of them lands and starts bathing:

So does this chiffchaff, ...:

... followed by a great spotted woodpecker:

Then comes a surprise: a green lizard's head appears at the end of the pool covered by flocks of cottonwood:

It's putting out the tongue for a while then it disappears at once as soon as a jay lands on the log nearby.
