Mikepércs: The Bathing Pool Is Frozen Again

The mornings nowadays have been frosty, so the water in the bathing pool was frozen this morning. The plants were covered with hoar frost everywhere.
But how about the birds? Arriving at the pool I poured some water on the ice before I got into the hide.
Soon a robin appeared to have some water:

Then this blackbird did the same:

Soon a female appeared as well:

The robin again:

As the blackbirds are concerned after drinking they often spit seeds:

Under sunshine the hoar disappeared soon, as the blackbirds kept on coming:

Even a marsh tit came for some water:

I can't complain about poor bird activity today as they came more frequently than they did recently.

The afternoon didn't pass without photography either, for my mother found a mantis in the garden. I ran quickly for my equipment and started shooting. Suddenly a small insect landed on the head of the mantis which tolerated it patiently as it walked across its head and neck:

The tiny insect had flown away soon and I started to take photos of the mantis under different light conditions. First on a trunk of tree ...:

... then on a small wild rose bush:

When I was moving close, it kept an eye on me for a while, ...:

... then it started to maintain its "weapons":

I ended up the mantis photography only when the Sun hid away.
