Mikepércs: Among The Whiskered Terns

The events a week ago attracted me to the pond again. I hoped that the terns were still there and they were feeding their youngs.
That's right! They are arriving early in the morning crying hoarsely. This bird is landing in front of my hide:

Soon one of the youngs appears too. It must be very hungry, as it's crying continuously for food. Realising that this has no result, it's pecking a bit its parent, ...:

... which doesn't really trouble itself, instead it continues preening. Finally it flies away to get some food after all.
Meanwhile a young starling lands, ...:

... does some research on the bank, catches a fly:

It doesns't stay long, however the young terns are landing again:

Meanwhile a purple heron is flying above me:

The young terns are leaving then returning:

Then a young stilt arrives to the bank to do some preening:

Slowly the young's breakfast is in its way. This bird has already seen something and starts crying more then ever:

I couldn't catch the feeding moment this time, I could only record the moment of gulping the fish:

After eating comes preening:

Another hungry throat is coming:

After the early morning feeding many of the birds come to the bank to preen themselves or just to have a rest. This avocet has arrived currently as well ...:

... and after a good stretching it thinks it's time for a snooze:

Meanwhile I discover a Temminck's stint among the little ringed plovers, but it's a bit far and doesn't stay long either.
A young tern is arriving again:

It's got a fish too:

The little ringed plovers have a feeding pause too:

Suddenly an idea comes to it and it starts running like someone who has to do something very important  ...:

... then it stops again to contiue its preening:

It looks seedy:

The preening process is perhaps more comfortable when sitting than when balancing on those long legs:

I managed to catch the moment of this feeding, but I couldn't be too pleased as an avocet is sitting in the background:

Mikepércs: Return Of The Whiskered Terns

I've been curious about the pond, what's going on there nowadays. Almost every occasion gives me some kind of a surprise. It were the whiskered terns which pleased me most today.
Arriving at the pond I realised that it went on shrinking, so the shore birds were possible to come. The wagtails would appear first within shooting distance, today was no exception:

Meanwhile a wood sandpiper appeared too:

The little ringed plovers were not late either:

A common sandpiper came into sight as well and for my great pleasure it felt like preening itself a bit in front of my hide:

Then it moved on to let me photograph it in different light conditions too, ... :)

Then came the young terns. They were flying above the water a little before one of them was landing nearby:

As soon as this young bird takes notice of its parents starts crying for food at once:

Others are trying to get food themselves:

The "kid" is getting more and more hungry:

A few avocets were on the pond too but a bit far from me, this individual approached most my hide:

At last! The breakfast arrived at last in form of a frog (unfortunately another young tern is just in front of this one):

This bird is wating for food as well, but can't get everyone food in the same time:

A snooze feels good with full pouch:

A flock of ruffs were on the water too in some distance, this was among the few birds which came a bit closer:

It was interesting to see that even the young birds spend a lot of time with preening:

Later a few lapwings landed too, ...:

... but the sun was already too high then, so I decided to leave.
