The events a week ago attracted me to the pond again. I hoped that the terns were still there and they were feeding their youngs.
That's right! They are arriving early in the morning crying hoarsely. This bird is landing in front of my hide:
Whiskered Tern
Soon one of the youngs appears too. It must be very hungry, as it's crying continuously for food. Realising that this has no result, it's pecking a bit its parent, ...:
Whiskered Terns
... which doesn't really trouble itself, instead it continues preening. Finally it flies away to get some food after all.
Meanwhile a young starling lands, ...:
Young Starling
... does some research on the bank, catches a fly:

It doesns't stay long, however the young terns are landing again:

Meanwhile a purple heron is flying above me:

The young terns are leaving then returning:

Then a young stilt arrives to the bank to do some preening:

Slowly the young's breakfast is in its way. This bird has already seen something and starts crying more then ever:

I couldn't catch the feeding moment this time, I could only record the moment of gulping the fish:

After eating comes preening:

Another hungry throat is coming:

After the early morning feeding many of the birds come to the bank to preen themselves or just to have a rest. This avocet has arrived currently as well ...:

... and after a good stretching it thinks it's time for a snooze:

Meanwhile I discover a Temminck's stint among the little ringed plovers, but it's a bit far and doesn't stay long either.
A young tern is arriving again:

It's got a fish too:

The little ringed plovers have a feeding pause too:

Suddenly an idea comes to it and it starts running like someone who has to do something very important ...:

... then it stops again to contiue its preening:

It looks seedy:

The preening process is perhaps more comfortable when sitting than when balancing on those long legs:

I managed to catch the moment of this feeding, but I couldn't be too pleased as an avocet is sitting in the background:
