Mikepércs: The Red-Necked For Third Time

A night heron's sound attracts my attention when I arrive at the hide in the semidarkness. If it has just taken off or arrived I don't know but it would be fine if it would had a rest on the trunk. I spend half an hour again with weeding then I wipe the outer side of the hide's window. Then I start to wipe the inner side within the hide but I forgot that really nothing holds the window from outside so, on the first push it splashes out in the water. And of course the liferich water splatters into my face. I try to snatch after it but I have to face the fact that the glass doesn't float. I've brought the camouflage net so I decide to photograph without the glass today. At least I will move the lens more cautiously.
The first bird which would be worth to be photographed is a ferruginous duck that is swimming in front of the hide in the vegetation. However because of the motley background the photo is not very good. Then nothing happens for long.
Again at 6:00 the coot comes to have a good breakfast:

Then comes another one hour break when a coot is starting up in front of me to chase another coot:

Shortly whiskered terns arrive, this time there are four of them. I'm expecting one of them to land on the trunk, but instead they start to pick something from the water in flight and they are really close. I try to catch them but their flight is so erratic that I have little chance. Though I manage to catch one of them. What it's got in the beak I have no idea:

I'm about to leave but having a peep from the hide I notice a ferruginous duck preening nearby so I stay in the hide a little bit more. And this proved to be good because after a few minutes for my greatest pleasure the red-necked grebe pops up from the water not far from me holding a stalk in the beak:

I have the idea that it could be geathering nesting material but after a few meters it's swimming on without it.
