High-Tatras: The Green Lake And Its Neighbourhood

I visited my favourite place in High-Tatras again, the neighbourhood of the Green Lake:

I haven't been to Fatra mountains yet, but I got here in the end of October. On the first day I made a tour touching Tlstá and Ostrá peaks. At the Tlstá peak I found a group of resting chamois:

I was mostly curious about the spectacular peak of Ostrá:

It's impressive! I will return to this place in the future! :)

On my way home I stopped for a few shots at the foot of the High Tatras:

Finally I made a rest at the Zadielska Gorge:

Piatra Craiului Mountains

The Piatra Craiului Mountains has been on my mind for a while. I've had a free week and I decided to go and climb it. I spent one night in the Ascuțit shelter on top of the mountain. The evening was beautiful, ...:

... but the morning was more exciting: chamoices were coming and going nearby, fortunately they were not too timid:

High Tatras: At The Chalet At Green Lake Again

In February I liked so much the surroundings at the chalet at Green Lake that I decided to go back again in summer or in autumn. Well, summer has come and I found the weather adequate for a three day trip.

Of course the summer landscape is completely different of the winter's, the rampant colour beeing green instead of white, the stream is not frozen. But the peaks are cloudy just as last time:

I spend the night in a big dormitory at the chalet, where about ten people have gathered by the evening.
Next morning I start the day with a stroll around the lake taking photos of course:

After the abundant breakfast in the chalet I aimed to reach the Jahnací peak (2230 m). Getting to a small lake on my way I catch sight of a chamois jumping from stone to stone in the lake. My presence doesn't disturb it at all, it's got used to the many tourists obviously:

After a steep climb I reach the saddle. The peak is only about a few hundreds meters from there. On my way the valleys offer a beautiful view being lighted by the sunrays at places:

I don't spend too much time on the peak, but on my way back I take a long rest on the ridge. Suddenly I notice a chamois ambleing up the trail followed by its kid:

On my way back I can see a group of chamois at the lake with a charming kid among them:

I get a small rain before getting down, but after the rain a beautiful rainbow appears above the valley of the Green Stream:

The next morning the sun is shining again. Mallards can be seen on the lake, they are very tame, many people feed them so they rest often on the shore:

After breakfast I set off back to the car but on my way I stop frequently to make some shots:

Bavarian Alps, Germany: The 3rd Day of Our Trip

Today I got up again before sunrise. When I stepped out of the rest-house I met the following sight:

Then hunting for chamois I climbed again to the ridge. This time the chamois appeared a little further:

Today I got up early for an early morning photography. I climbed the ridge nearby with my sister. There we caught sight of a few chamois on the slope of the ridge not far from us. We crouched down and I started to take shots of them. Then about 10 meters from us a chamois attracted our attention gazing at us with astonishment. I turned the camera towards it at once then it made a big jump:

Then other chamois arrived at the rock opposite to us:

They were moving with the highest self-confidence on the steep slopes and rocks:
