Mikepércs: Siskin

Some sunshine was to be expected for today, so I prepared for some scenes.

It's not cold today, the snow is melting. After some time in the hide I can hear a few siskins nearby. Soon one of them lands on the corner of the pool:

I focused on the nuthatches on today's photography, but other birds could be expected as well.

For example among the tits a siskin appears:

A small flock of tree sparrows come to feed from the seeds as well:

Mikepércs: Siskins Again

Unfortunately it's been overcast this morning, though I prepared for actions.

I'm waiting for the siskins in the hide, paying little attention to the tits. Soon a male siskin arrives and starts to eat the sunflower seeds. The tits also want to get close to the seeds, the siskins are smaller however more aggressive:

The lights are still poor, and there are nice scenes. Though I managed to catch these ones:

I expected a sunny day today and I prepared for actions, instead I got a steamy, foggy morning.
The birds are very active at the hide, beside the tits a few siskins are also feeding from the sunflower seeds. Well then, I have a chance to catch them when they return. Only tits are coming for long, but now I don't pay much attention on them. A jay is landing too, but it doesn't stay long. Soon a sparrow-hawk strikes in as quick as thought, the small birds are spreading with alarm. I haven't see this time either if it has caught something or not as it flies away at once after the attack. The birds are soon calming down and return. Soon I can hear the sounds of siskins. First a sparrow then a siskin appears. It doesn't stay long but later others are landing too. One of them selects my landing branch to have a short rest:

Mikepércs: At The Pool

After a long pause I've given a try again at the feeder/pool this morning.
The sky is bright, so I hope I catch the warm lights of the rising sun. Getting at the hide I don't see too much activity from the birds which surprises me, but the tits arrive soon. I'm already in the hide when I can hear the sounds of  hawfinches and greenfinches. I placed the feeder in front of the hide, but the birds can find a lot of seed among the bushes where the feeder has been, so there's not much activity in front of me. Nvertheless a curious jay appears besides the tits:

Mikepércs: Nice Morning Lights

On my way to the pool this morning I could predict good lights for today.

On my first shots I could make use of the nice, warm early lights of the sun:

Besides the tits the sparrows also came, but I was happier to see this male siskin land on this nice place:

Mikepércs: Rush Hours At The Pool

On my way to the hide I was having the fieldfares and the mistle thrushes in my brain. Will they visit my pool?
The tits are very active at the pool, today's photography begins with them:

A little surprise meanwhile: I can hear a nuthatch nearby and I discover it searching under the feeder. Last year it hasn't visited this place yet. I think it's saving food for winter, as it flies away and returns regularly. Then I can hear the fieldfares too, and one of them is perching on the bush nearby! I'm looking at it tensely, waiting for the landing moment... It starts descending but halfway it changes its mind and flies away. Then I start to guess weather it has seen something strange in the hide or something else has disturbed it?

But I don't deal with these thoughts too much as hawfinches are coming to drink:
