The Enchanting Ciucaș Mountains

I arrived in the evening in the Ciucaș Mountains. For my greatest surprise I saw a grazing red deer near the parking place:

At the old, abandoned challet many house martins were nesting:

The rhododendrons just started to bloom, I came too early:

The Mountains Have Been Bloomed

In middle of June it's time for rhododendron photography! First I travelled to Bucegi Mountains. There were rhododendrons there but they were not fully bloomed yet at the place where I expected. However there was something else: clouds, mist...:

... and some flowers too:

But I planned to visit the Retezat Mountains as well where I found more flowers:

Rodna Mountains: Looking For Rhododendrons

This year I visited tha Lala Lakes again hoping to admire the sight of mountain slopes full of rhododendrons.

In the first evening I climbed on the crest and the Ineu peak to admire the sunset. Other people came up here for the same reason:

I was hoping to see more rhododendron flowers but unfortunately this year they were not in full bloom yet.

I decided not to stay one more night, instead I would go down and visit the Horses waterfall next morning:

Retezat Mountains: Spring At Lake Bucura

I planned a few days hiking trip in the Retezat Mountains with my cousin at the end of June. Our campsite was at the amazing Lake Bucura. On first day we visited the higher smaller lakes which are just melting now:

Rodna Mountains: Rhododendrons

About a week ago I read that in the Rodna mountains the rhododendrons had started to bloom and after the 15th of June they would be in full bloom. So, I decided to have a look at it. This time I had a companion and we planned to spend two nights at the Lala Mic lake at an altitude of 1900 m where tenting is permitted. We had to stop the car around 7 kilometers from the spot and it had darkened by the time we got there. Being weekend there were several other tents near the lake.

I wanted to wake up before sunrise to capture some good shots. In the first morning the sky was quite overcast but after some time the sun rays appeared:

There were really lots of rhododendrons around the lake. In the background You can see the Ineu peak with snowspots:

Besides the rhododendrons there were many other colourful flowers too:

Next morning the sky was absolutely clear:

It was really worth coming up for this scenery, however the surroundings of the lower Lala Mare lake is also beautiful, so I decided to photograph there too next time.
