Vekeri-Lake: Black Stork

A week ago I discovered a black stork at Vekeri-Lake and this morning I went for it.

The morning began with mallards, egrets and grey herons, ...:

... then the black stork flew in:

It gulped a few fish then flew away.

I would like to catch the last time's pygmy cormorant, so yesterday I moved my hide a bit and placed two branches in front of it, in case the cormorant would come again. 

It's not too dark when I get into the hide. Soon I can hear the voice of an approaching night heron which soon lands right on my branch for my greatest pleasure. I try to photograph it but it's too dark. Unfortunately it flies away after some time. The Sun rises slowly and starts to enlighten the water:

Nothing happens for long though the lights are beautiful. At last a grey heron lands:

It's moving very slowly but doesn't catch anything.

The coots don't come close, but I think I have managed to take some nice shots:

Then a whiskered tern is landing, unfortunately with back to me:

Tisza-lake: Day 3

When I woke up on the 3rd day the sun was hidden by some clouds:

I went on making flight shots. There were quite lots of white-winged black terns, yellow-legged gulls and black-headed gulls flying close to me:

I waited a lot for the marsh harrier to come, as I saw it flying on this place yesterday. Then it appeared suddenly:

Fortunately there was not a strong sunlight which had a good effect on the images, on the other hand the light clouds didn't give a nice background.

Mikepércs: The Lake of Herons

This time I used a reed matting as a hide for taking shots at a pond where I saw many herons, egrets and other birds previously. Here there was still enough water to attract a lot of birds.

After I had got into the hide the black-winged stilts appeared soon. Then this snipe came quite close to the hide:

Then a common sandpiper got at the front of the glass that I used for photography and made a very soft pee-pee-like calling sounds while it was looking at its reflection in the glass. Perhaps it was calling its couple. Seeing no reaction it got away but soon reappeared calling its "couple" again behind the glass. This scene occured a few times while I was there.
Meanwhile the grey herons began to land. First in some distance then closer and closer:

Most of the herons was not very successful at hunting, this young specimen found only a bit of something:

This one just flew accross the pond but with a frog in its beak:

Later a black-winged stilt was looking for food quite close to the hide:

Szepes, Debrecen: The first Great Heron

This was the first time a great heron landed in front of my hide. It hunted there in the shallow water for a while:
