Mikepércs: The Sparrow Hawk Stopped Me

Today started with photography again with the usual birds:

Eurasian Tree Sparrow

Great Tit

Suddenly a big panic took place among the birds, as a male sparrow hawk attempted to capture a small bird again with a speedy attack. After the unsuccessful hunt he settled on one of the branches placed near the feeder. Unfortunately there were other branches in front of him, so I couldn't take photos. After some time however the tits slowly returned, but seeing the sparrow hawk sitting there, they didn't approach the feeder. They just waited in the bushes for the sparrow hawk to disappear, which didn't show any intention to leave his observation post. He preened himself a bit, sometimes stretched his wings and legs and observed the small birds flying from bush to bush. Then a great spotted woodpecker appeared and got closer to the feeder. The sparrow hawk attacked it at once and chased it a while. From the sounds I could assume that the woodpecker has escaped.
The sparrow hawk has made me pause the photography a bit today, but I don't mind, because he gave me a great experience.
